"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
— Nelson Mandela
Inspiring the next generation to lead with kindness, courage, and compassion.
Voices – Who Speak Up is Create Lasting Change's children's magazine, created to inspire young minds through stories, activities, and real-life lessons that encourage compassion, respect, and courage.
More than just a magazine, it is an invitation for children to discover that their everyday choices matter. Whether standing up for a classmate, showing kindness to an animal, respecting others, or helping someone in need, every small action contributes to building stronger communities.
Each edition introduces meaningful conversations in a way that is engaging, age-appropriate and fun, helping children develop empathy, confidence and a sense of responsibility from an early age.
Together with the Ubuntu Challenge, every reader becomes part of the Ubi Crew—a growing community of young people who believe that kindness is strength, compassion creates change, and every voice has the power to make a difference.
It begins when children learn to care.

Every hero needs a guide.
Ubi the Owl is the heart of the magazine and the Ubuntu Challenge.
Curious, wise and always kind, Ubi encourages children to look after one another, care for animals, respect nature and have the courage to stand up for what is right.
Throughout every edition, Ubi shares challenges, fun activities, and thoughtful reminders that show children how even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting change.
Because every member of the Ubi Crew has the power to make a difference.
The people shaping every page.
Sinazo is a high school teacher based in Cape Town who has dedicated many years to working with children and young people in vulnerable communities. Having grown up in Samora Machel and later returning to teach at the same school she once attended, she brings deep personal understanding and commitment to the challenges faced by children affected by violence, crime, and socio-economic hardship.
For more than a decade, Sinazo has worked at Sophumelela High School, where she has seen firsthand how deeply social challenges impact children and their well-being. She strongly believes in the power of education, awareness, and early intervention to create meaningful long-term change. Alongside her passion for supporting vulnerable children, Sinazo is also deeply compassionate about animal welfare and believes that empathy and kindness toward animals play an important role in building more caring communities.
Within Create Lasting Change, Sinazo supports the development of youth-focused education and prevention initiatives that promote compassion, kindness, empathy, and emotional awareness from an early age. Her work includes helping shape educational materials, children’s magazines, awareness initiatives, and programs for troubled teens aimed at reducing violence and empowering children to speak up.

She is the author of Recalibrate Your Mind, with all proceeds directly supporting programs for abused women.

Her lifelong advocacy includes rescuing animals and supporting projects for street children and abused women. To further strengthen the organization’s prevention work, Sunny is currently pursuing continuing education in criminology to deepen the understanding of the systemic drivers of violence and help shape the future direction of the nonprofit’s initiatives.
As a committed vegan, she believes that human welfare, animal protection, and environmental sustainability are deeply interconnected.
